Flooring Comparison Chart

The basic flooring comparison chart was developed as a general guideline to help you choose a residential floor type. The ratings will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and from product to product. For example, some hardwood species are more damage and scratch resistant than others. The better quality nylon carpets and vinyl floors have very good stain resistance.

You should always refer to the specific manufacturer's written documentation before purchasing a floor. Always read carefully the manufacturer's warranty and product literature to determine what the floors recommend use is and if it is suitable for your specific application.

Thanks to recent advancements in flooring technology many floors have improved dramatically in their styling, stain-resistance and ease of cleaning. Don't think of flooring like you did 10-20 years ago. All the bigger flooring companies have made many enhancements to their products and will outperform any of the floors you have purchased in the past.
